Restless leg syndrome and pre-eclampsia leg problems seem to have many commonalities. One commonality is a tendency to an elevated BP reading - both during and after "initial" occurrence.
Both circumstance seem treatable with high-pressure deep-tissue massage as described by Dr. David Simons in his 1970's translation of early 1900's research by 12 German Research Doctors.
I would suggest as a hypothesis: Overuse in lower leg musculature causes muscle spindle cells to become overactive - causing chronic firing and shortened muscle structure - resulting in edema caused pressure which reduces capillary blood flow capacity - puts pressure on nerve tissue - and creates a chronic hyper tonus. Increased pressure causes a feed back ( possibly to Renal enervation ) which causes the heart to increase BP to provide sufficient blood flow to enable escape from a predator - but there is no predator. This would suggest why Renal nerve Ablation works in some cases. An avenue to research?
