I am not real sure the term 'interaction' applies. It seems that what we actually want is on the same level as church attendance. Or having a meal in a restaurant. Its just the presence of other people. Hearing speech, seeing them, passing by, walking as part of a moving stream. That what we really want. That why Facebook and Twitter are flops; nobody really wants the aspect of one-on-one in the unknown. AND that is the basis of capitalistic consumerism.

Humans are social primates. In this individualistic world we now can live in, thanks to technology, we don't have to live with others anymore. The web now provides the community, in the virtual world. So, it isn't anti-social, it's "anti-Meat Space", you don't even have to shed your pajamas.
