IKEA recalls marinated herring

Ikea Systems has announced the recall of Ikea-labeled jars of marinated herring with a Best Before Date of 13-02-2008 or earlier.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Ikea received two reports involving customers finding large pieces of glass in the jars.

Ikea said the date code is printed on each jar's label, directly above the bar code. The country of origin is Finland and the marinated herring was sold in Ikea stores nationwide.

Consumers can contact the Scandinavian company at its U.S. headquarters at 888-966-4532.
